“Superb, isolated location smack dab in the middle of Beaujolais region, nestled amongst vineyards and chateaux! The Chateau des Poupets is more than 500 years old and is overflowing with antiques and history! I felt like we were on the Antique Roadshow! We arrived late but were able to find a superb restaurant called Le Bouchon de Julienas and were regaled with locally grown cuisine and wine. Breakfast (coffee, croissants, jams, etc) was offered for 6 euros. Rooms were well equipped , comfortable and clean.”
“We were welcomed by the lady of the house and got some delicious white wine as welcome. The room / studio was very clean and fitted with a small kitchen and a bathroom – basically everything you need for a few nice days in the beautiful wine-making region, the Beaujolais. We were offered breakfast that cost 6 € extra per person with some tasty croissants, baguette, homemade jam and a good, strong coffee. The region itself is quiet and the village nearby, Juliénas, offers the basics to get along for a few days. All in all we enjoyed our short stay a lot and can definitely recommend booking one of the rooms advertised.”
