Enchanting hiking trails wind through vine-covered landscapes. Choose leisurely circular strolls, village-to-village walks, or day-long treks in the hills of Vâtre. Maps are available in Vâtre or from the tourist offices in Fleurie and Beaujeu.
Cycling adventures
Tranquil roads and captivating vistas make this corner of France irresistible for cyclists. The marked Beaujolais wine trail guides you through charming villages. Off-road VTT adventures are also prevalent. Bicycles can be securely stored with us.
Golf
A twenty-minute drive connects you to excellent courses for every level, with championship venues near Lyon within reach, open year-round to visitors.
Wine villages and cellars
Fleurie, Morgon, Chénas and Saint-Amour sit within a short drive of Juliénas. Many domaines open by appointment; the tourist offices in Fleurie and Beaujeu keep current tasting lists. The third Thursday of November is Beaujolais Nouveau Day — book rooms early.
Rivers, markets and Lyon
The Saône is twenty minutes east for a riverside walk in Belleville or Mâcon. Weekly markets fill Juliénas and neighbouring villages with cheese, charcuterie and seasonal fruit. Lyon, forty-five minutes south, is the obvious evening city — bouchons, traboules, and the river quays.
Golf La Commanderie
Just east of Mâcon: an eighteen-hole course and restaurant. Staff speak English, French, German, Dutch and Italian.

Golf Club de Lyon
Among France’s top ten, about an hour from the vineyard, in a 220-hectare nature reserve with two 18-hole courses, clubhouse, dining and driving range.
Golf du Gouverneur
Two championship 18-hole courses: the 6,400-metre Breuil — among Europe’s longest — and the 5,880-metre Montaplan, set across rolling hills and lakes, with restaurant, putting greens and chipping areas.
